Lights, Camera, Action! Welcome to my first Skillshare Class!

Hello, hello my creative friends!

I cannot believe January is over! This month has gone so fast! Usually January is the Monday of the year for me. Cold, grey and interminable! But this year the month is over already and I didn’t even realise it. It must be true what they say: time flies when you’re having fun!

Since the beginning of the year, in fact, I’ve been filming my first class for Skillshare “How To Self-Publish A Low Or No Content Book On Amazon KDP For Beginners”!

It’s been such an experience, especially for a person like me with very little knowledge of technology. I had to learn (rather quickly) about lighting, audio and filming equipment, but also I had to learn how to edit the lessons!

I had never opened Premier Pro before and yet there I was editing the images, cutting and putting together different sequences, adding b-rolls (I had no idea what a b-roll was before starting working on the class, a cheap sandwich maybe?), adding music and speeding up some scenes… A few month ago I would have thought this absolutely impossible!

But nothing is impossible, right? I find that if you set your mind on something and you are determined (and stubborn) enough then you can do anything!

It was all very scary but at the same time I really wanted to do it so I worked hard, I followed other classes to learn how to use the editing program and I did it! I created my class!

My Visual Diary for Botanical Artists

My Visual Diary for Botanical Artists

I discovered self-publishing some time ago and I love it! I came up with an idea for a visual diary especially for botanical artist and I couldn’t find anything like the book I had in mind, so I decided to do it myself.

At first I publish a few simpler books, just to get to grips with the process and how everything works, then I tackled the more complex book. I learned how to use Adobe InDesign to make the inside of the books and I used Adobe Illustrator to design the cover. Making these books is addictive! I keep coming up with new ideas and I just wish I had more time to implement all of them!

I cannot tell you what a fantastic feeling it is to see your class finally published! Knowing that other people will be able to watch the class and learn a new skill that you have shared with them fills my heart with warmth.
