Celebrate Your Small Wins To Achieve Big Goals

Hello, hello my creative friends!

Today we’re talking about celebrating our wins. How often do you do that? Personally, not often enough!

If you think about it, we’re so fast in congratulating other people for what they do and what they have achieved, but we rarely celebrate our own wins. And I don’t mean go-to-the-restaurant-and-invite-the-whole-family kind of celebration (although if you get that super great contract with your dream company you might want to do that). I’m talking about giving yourself a little reward for something you have achieved.

For example, I have just completed a “30 pattern in 30 days challenge”. Let me tell you, that was intense!

I would work most days till late in the evening to finish off the pattern, however I completed the challenge! I made 30 patterns and posted the pattern every day and now I’m 30 patterns closer to my 100 patterns goal this year. Well, I had other patterns too, but this challenge forced me to create every single day.

The pictures here show the complete collection of 30 patterns.

I had signed up for other challenges before but never stuck to it, so because I finished this one (and within the 30 days), I’ve decided to celebrate this win by treating myself to a new book.

I haven’t decided yet which one is going to be (suggestions are welcome) but maybe it will be a reference book on the Arts and Crafts movement which I really love.

So you see, it doesn’t have to be a huge thing, but it’s important to recognize our achievements. I’m also starting bullet journaling (again) and I’m going to use a couple of pages for my wins and accomplishments so that I can go back to look at these pages on those bad days (yeah we all get them, right?).

When we celebrate our successes, no matter how small, we rekindle our enthusiasm, and this in turn will boost our passion and willingness to keep going.

It will push us to stay committed and consistent because once we experience the happiness of celebrating that accomplishment, we’ll want more of that!

It will also improve our self-confidence; you’ll realize that you can do anything if you really want to.

All this will help us on the road to achieving our big goals. Goals aren’t reached overnight, especially the big ones, so keeping our enthusiasm, self-confidence and commitment high will definitely help us to keep going even when the days are tough.

So what about you? What would you like to celebrate? Please don’t say “nothing” because I’m sure we all have something, no matter how small, to celebrate. Have you finally sorted your fabric stash? Have you completed that watercolor painting that was gathering dust in a drawer since 1998? Did you manage to cook a perfect souffle?

Nothing is too small to be an accomplishment. Let me know in the comment and lets all celebrate!!

Till next time

Create and be happy!
